MIL Lamp Warning - What's This...?

Hi all,

My Tuscan kept beeping & flashing 'MIL Lamp' on the dash today whilst driving. It would go away for a few seconds, come back & repeat for some of the journey. Not ideal timing as I was giving a guy from work a lift & he was asking if TVRs are unreliable, and then what the beeping was about. I said it sings to me sometimes

Does someone have any advise on what the problem may be - seems to mean lots of different things under a Internet search; from blown fuses to handbrake issues & dodgy lamda sensors...

That should only happen when your Mother In Law is in the passenger seat

MIL - stands for: MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP....I believe ;-).
(or ...could be mother-in law)!

Most likely is a sensor is breaking down. For a definitive cure, get the car to a TVR specialist and get them to read the diagnostics.

It might be a poor earth too.

Thats great advice - thanks. Its due for servicing in July so if its an iffy light, it can probably wait until then

On a date tomorrow & with the weather at the moment it would be impossible NOT to take it!

I would not normally either as I'm proactive with maintenance, but the car is used about once a month & I have it serviced 80 miles away so not really down the road! Its beeped for a fraction of a second about once a journey for a while (its only just stayed on long enough for me to see what it is!) I guess the problem is just getting worse. I'll use it tomorrow, see how it goes then maybe leave it asleep until July. Thanks chaps
