Alfa 159 Sportswagon, Should I.
Discussion
I won't go over the story again but I need an estate and really can't decide on one.

Really like this though, looks great, loads of kit but a bit slow (remapp?), but those wheels and the general shape of the car are very alluring.
Tell me why I should/shouldn't?

Do it, Ive got the saloon, and fantastic car for the money.
Been completely reliable, apart from 2 window regulators (on the same bloody window) in the 10 months I've had it.
The engine is a GM unit, same as in saab or Vaux astra, It is by no means fast, but has enough shove to get you moving.

Not too worried about fast, 8 sec to 62 would be enough. I've had fast'ish cars for years so I could do with a break (as could my licence).Been completely reliable, apart from 2 window regulators (on the same bloody window) in the 10 months I've had it.

Just be weary of the TI I was going to buy the 2.4d but was put off by stupidly high tyre prices.. I don't mind paying 150 a tyre or so but these were circa 250+
Iirc they were a 235 45 19 and there's only a handful of manufacturers in the correct size.. Accelera at around £90 a tyre (these aren't an option to me) then Pirellis or continentals at over £250 each, no middle ground.
It's not easy to go to a different size I.e 245 40's as the load ratings aren't high enough.
They look fantastic, though!

I have the same car as per your advert! i have had no problem bar 1 parking senor gone i refuse to pay £100 for a sensor + fitting! I am so tempted to remap and get rid of the DBF filter I think it is worth it but cant justify the increase in insurance(too honest)! 50mpg must be downhill at 70mph i get around 40mpg mixed road/motorway.
It does like chewing through the front tire due to lump of iron in front but that is normal! I have no complaints I love the stlying best car on the road atm shame they have stopped making them.

Why not get a very late 156 Sportwagon with the delicious and properly Alfa Romeo V6 engine? If you get one that has been well looked after, and you change the oil frequently and mind the cambelt intervals, then it can go on for ever, and it looks and drives very well. The window lifts are often dodgy, but nothing is without flaw.
