What are the correct seat belts for a Vixen?
Discussion
Does anyone know what seat belts would have been fitted originally in a 1972 Vixen S3? The options seems to be :
1 - Static or inertia
2 - Current style fine webbing or older style pebble dash webbing
3 - aircraft style strap buckle, modern style strap buckle with the orange release button or the modern buckle on a wire stalk.

Well our 1972 1600M has got fine webbing, fixed, with aircraft style latch on.
They are a right pain in the backside though, especially for trackday use.
I would imagine though, with it being TVR, that it could probably have had a bunch of different types of belt depending on what was in the parts bin at the time.

Original seat belts on ALL S2/3 Vixens and Tuscans were made by Kangol. They were lap and diagonal and made from black webbing including the short strap which nowadays tends to be a stalk. They had a magnetic "buckle" and had a green and silver sticker which was inscribed "TVR" and "Lift". Some but not many S1,s only had a lap strap.
Inertia reel didn,t come till "M" series.

Thanks for the info. Last year I bought some rubbish cheapo ones off ebay and now looking to replace them with something nicer. I found this company which offer better quality ones so will give them a try and let you know if they're good. http://www.quickfitsbs.com/seat_belts.php
