One step closer...

My Z4MC went up for sale this week and the first viewer put down a deposit, so my well loved M Coupe will soon be gone. 
However, that does mean I'm one step closer to Vantage ownership...
Regarding the Vantage acquisition, I've decided to go for an early model preferably in Meteorite Silver and I've made my list of mandatory and preferred optional extras - Grant's book has been very helpful in this regard!
I'm still in no rush though. If the right one pops up in the next couple of weeks then that would be great, but I'd be equally happy to pick up a cheap runabout and spend the next 6 months finding the right car - the chase can often be almost as much fun.
So, with any luck, I will soon join the fold.

I have no doubt the sunshine will soon turn to rain for the remainder of the 'summer' so I *think* I can be sensible and hold out for the right car. It's difficult though... I remember picking up the Z4MC at the start of a 2 week heat wave and it was fantastic. Also seem to remember something similar with my 996 a few years back. Hmmm...
Regarding colours, Meteorite is by far my favourite across the silver/grey/black spectrum but I'd be open to brighter colours (dark blues, dark reds, etc. would be out as I much prefer Meteorite). Yellow would take some persuading with the missus no doubt.
HRD's car is lovely but is way above my self imposed budget. I've thought long and hard re: 4.3 vs. 4.7 and decided now is not the right time for the latter. So an early-ish 4.3 it is.

I just bought my first Aston yesterday - a 2007, 56 plate V8 Vantage in Meteorite silver, black interior but light headlining rather than black which was a personal must. I'd seen a few over several months before I stumbled across mine at Bramleys in Surrey. I paid a bit more than I wanted, and I didn't even haggle because it ticked every box, including heated seats (a must for Mrs Mac) and premium audio (a must for me) but after 200 miles of driving yesterday, including Hindhead Tunnel, I can say its worth holding off for a good example.
Plus I must say that Bramleys is a charming garage with terrific cars from various marques and really nice salesmen. They made the purchase a joy.

Mr Gould speaks the truth - they aren't so rare you need to jump at the wrong one. I did end up dropping my quest for premium audio when I found a car with everything else I wanted and when I heard how loud and clear the standard audio was.

Hi Mark, I also swapped my Z4MC for a Meteorite V8V. They are very different cars to drive, the Aston is no-where near as manic as the MC. You'll need to 'grow up' a bit to appreciate the V8V.
But in saying that I love mine and couldn't think of anything in the price bracket I would swap it for.
Get a good long test drive in one before you jump. I took me some getting used to the change.

Sorry Ice27! I've not been on here much since buying the car - I've either been driving it or working away. This is my car - a 2007 v8V on a 56 plate with just over 8000 miles on the clock when I bought it. I've since put over a thousand miles on it - but I'm still getting used to the width, height and length of the car. It's a lot more car than the Corrado VR6 that it replaces as my weekend fun car!
