Not anywhere near the most PH car in the world, but this may be a consideration as a replacement for my Fabia VRS.

I would be looking at a 40k miles 2008ish model, which I would keep for 4 years and put 100k on it.

I know most of the modern diesel problems (often expensive) but is there anything specifc to be wary of with these engines on the reliability / longevity front?

I expect 500 a year on repairs as it gets older, but I want to avoid a big 2 grand injector/dpf/dmf etc. problem part way into my ownership.

Thanks

Is this not fitted with the PSA engine which is also used by Ford?

Well documented expenses at higher mileages IIRC

I believe it is, however reports of failure are well documented, but with such widespread use, in many different cars it is hard to believe that they are all write-off time bombs.

Or perhaps that is the point and they want to you to buy new cars before 100k
