Went along to see Guns and Roses last night, supported by Thin Lizzy.

Thin Lizzy were OK, the experience not helped by not knowing many of their songs. I found them a bit samey with no really difference between many songs.

Guns and Roses, despite being far from the original line-up were excellent. They were very very good with the only issue being a horrendously out-of-tune piano used for a few of the slower songs.

Its a cheesy song but you have to love Sweet Child of Mine played Live.

I saw them in Nottingham last week. Shame you didn't know many Thin Lizzy songs. I thought they were brilliant. One of those bands where they've all been doing it for decades and just have tha, I dunno, confidence/swagger of "I've done this before, son. Just enjoy."

Agree with GnR too. I saw them at Hammersmith Apollo, so due to the size of the venue, it'l always be my favourite gig of theirs, but the show they put on this tour is brilliant.

The Glasgow show was pretty good too, unfortunately some idiot ruined it for the girl I was with, thought GNR were a lot better that expected.

What happened with the London O2 shows? Just seen a review of the Slash gig at Hammersmith that suggested the GnR shows were a disaster?

I went to the first one and it seemed pretty good to me. Obviously a little chaotic with thousands of people trying to get home from the O2 at 2am, but that was fully expected.

Apparently Axl Rose was 2 hours late coming on stage. The O2 isn't exactly in the middle of town and is only served by one tube line so by the time they started the gig around a third of the audience had already left. By the time they finished the place was pretty much empty (from what I heard on the radio yesterday).

It certainly didn't seem empty to me!

For a start, there wasn't a scheduled start time, and a quick bit of research online showed that they were likely to start around 10.45 - which they did. Also, the O2 had sent out an email earlier in the week, explaining that the gig would likely finish after the last tube, and outlining the various options for getting back.

So, yes, it was a bit of a hassle getting home afterwards, but it went exactly as people were told it was going to.
