Here I am again with a query..
Discussion
My wheels are 205/60/15 and I'd like bigger ones. Is that a good idea?
So....am I right in thinking that I can do this by buying a set of alloys complete with tyres, say 225/60/17, and they can just go straight on?
And am I right in thinking the '60' has to stay the same or not?
If I'm wrong, how do I go about it please?

If I was you Linda I would go for an OE (Original Equipment) possible styles included the
328 'Sport' Cross Spoke BBS alloy,
Obvioulsy with BMW centre caps fitted!
or some M3 (E34) 17" wheels
Large number of replica (of BMW Oe styles)wheels around, personally I'd contact some alloy wheel dealers
these guys sell used wheels
WheelMania Birmingham North
2347 Coventry Road,
Sheldon
B26 3PN
Tel: 0121 688 8844
or maybe check e-bay out or maybe these guys www.fabdirect.com/index2.htm and buy a second hand set of genuine wheels of them rather than new replicas
Regards tyre size, bigger wheels will require lower profile tyres, so I think this is the correct dimension for e36 3 series running on 17" 215/45/17

Dont think you can on a E36, but I'll stand corrected if you can
Not genuine bmw ones, but there are some rather chavtastic aftermarket ones around.
www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html for tyre size calculator
Linda - can I recommend you check out the classifed ads on www.e36coupe.com as there is always wheels for sale in there.
The only angel eyes I would consider is the FK Automotive ones from www.hyperturismo.com as they look factory fitted, and only cost about £200 or so.

I will check that site out for wheels.
But the angel eyes, I thought these looked good..

Are they not very good?

NO!! All of the DIY kits I have seen are terrible, and although they claim it takes 3 hours to fit them, the headlights never seal up properly again, so mist up, and the wiring is quite tricky, so you will probably still be swearing at them 3 days later!
I would only advise to buy complete replacement units, and unless you want to spend £350 on the hella ones (which look rather bling as they are chrome lined) I would only get the FK Automotive ones from HTR. £200 or so, piece of cake to fit, and they look like BMW intended for them to be there.
