Autocar had a lovely website. Colourful, big images, nice to look at and read.

Now they've redesigned it and, IMO it looks awful. They've made it look the same as What Car and that's not a good thing.

Genuinely looks like a step backwards in my eyes. Anyone else feel the same?

Old site (bit small I know):

Much prefer the new one mysel. A great deal cleaner and tidier.

That's genuinely interesting to hear. I may be in the minority then"

I prefer a website to engage me visually, the current Autocar and What Car sites (and to an extent, dare I say it, the new PH Classifieds) all look a bit grey and boring to me.

There's a lot of ground between the new site and Lings Cars though - the worst site known to man. Middle ground would be nice - like the old site!

They seem to have done away with That last page that told you, well everything, like fuel tank size, tyre size etc.

Overall it's a nice redesign, but I can't seem to find any of the old roadtests - there only seems to be stuff for current models.

So yet again change for changes sake. How to alienate users who have been there since the start of the net. Why do they all do this? It's like buying a pub then changing the seating/ decor/ prices till the regulars leave.
