If I call myself a Managing Director and Not a Chartered Engineer it costs me £36.

If my wife says she's an receptionist or administration assistant and not a housewife she saves £12

If my son were a Lab technician and not a Chemistry student he'd save £600. (Not that either is affordable so he can use pubic transport until he's graduated)

Anyone got a bigger saving ?

AND : Why are students and job seekers a statistically bigger risk?

Students get drunk, and are generally young inexperienced drivers.

Job seeker is at home usually, and is more likely to have time for driving around?

ETA - Student = 780

baptist minister = 617.

160 quid.

If I say I am just an Engineer and not a Mechanical Engineer I save about 30 quid. If I say I am a research scientist (which I also am technically) I can save nearly 40 quid.

I didn't think job title did that much on car insurance applications, obviously i was very wrong! Though it seems 'computer programmer' is one of the better options and i can't get it much cheaper.

Students drive around stoned all the time and jobseekers can't afford to buy new tyres.

Changing mine from Research Technician to Laboratory Technician saves me £22.30.

Does anyone know how to find out what affect your post-code has on car insurance?

EDIT

Just found this, in case anyone is interested.

If I say Public House Manager, it would load my premium by £56...

I'm a ltd co Managing Director "normally", so if I change to "Company Chairman" I'd save another £27...

Bugger, came in here thinking I could vent all my frustrations on being overworked, underpaid and stressed, all for the sake of a new job title. But I just find another thinly veiled "I'm being charged too much for my insurance" thread rolleyes

Ignore me, I did say I'm stressed wink
