THANK you Bonce, my computer now had a new desktop!

I Love that car!!

Where did you see it?

Is that a Esprit V8 powered car or a LT5 V8 powered car?

If that Elise was to roll up to the Olympic Games, they wouldnt need a urine sample to test for steriods!

Izza: A few other high res pics are available, email me through my profile and I'll send them back to you!

It was at the SELOC Brunty or Bust charity day out last weekend which had nearly 500 Lotuses through the gates!

Not sure what engine the GT1 has, to be honest!

I think it was Evo that did an article on this, in the same issue as the Mosler 900 and the Saleen S7, if memory serves. By all accounts a bit of a handful to drive but no doubt a wicked experience. Would give it a big

If I remember right, it was designed to take the LT5 engine, but then the regulations changed so they had to switch to Esprit turbo engine late on and there weren't enough funds/time to get it developed properly on that basis, hence it didn't do much on the track.

I got a great little 1/18 model of it at Goodwood a couple of years ago where I saw it.

Minimum boost 575bhp, 2 bar boost over 800bhp +.

We had Graham go out on the Friday night, the car pulled 135+ in 4th gear with two more to go.

An amazing site seeing he car out on track for the first time in 5 years, especially with the sheets of flame on overrun against a twilight sky, sadly no camera on me!!

Jeeeesus....over 800bhp!!! In something that weighs about as much as a very light thing thats been on a diet !! Would it reach 1000bhp per tonne? And if so, does that exceed an F1 car? Or are these nearer to 1500bhp per tonne?

I was on the track at Bruntingthrope in my Sport 350 at the same time as the Elise GT1. It overtook me at the cones at the bottom of the 2nd straight with flames shooting from the exhaust so I assume it has the same engine as me as turbo's tend to spit flames. I was pleased when it failed to go round the cones and went into them instead. I missed the track a couple of times so it made me feel better for my poor driving !!
