Driving around somewhereville today, approaching a very tight left hander, I had to get "wrong side" with the truck to make the corner. As I positioned myself ready for the turn, I saw a Nova, four up coming towards the corner at some speed. So I stopped. I could see him over the wall, so I assumed he could see me - wrong!
Car came blatting round the corner, saw me, panicked, pulled hard to his right, hit the high kerb damaging the OSF suspension and slid along the brick wall with the drivers door hard against it.
I was suprised to see the passenger door open and the lad "leg it" as fast as possible (not helped by the drag from his baseball cap!)
Concerned for the safety of the occupants, I thought "Poor lads, hope they are not hurt, best I go and help". First I had to reverse my truck out of the way, and in the excitement lost control and ended up with the trailer hard against the passenger door.
I jumped out and went to the back of the Nova to see if i could help them get out. On the way, I picked up my jack handle to smash the rear window and give them something to hang on to as they climbed out. I stood at the back of the car waving the handle to show my intentions, but the lads did not seem to want to get out! I could tell they were OK though as they kept offering me coffee!
Imagine my suprise when the BiB turned up and told me that these three upstanding members of the community were actually car thieves! I was shocked! Even more shocked by the abuse these three young men gave me as they were led away to the van. I was only trying to help! I cant help it if I`m not very good at reversing.
Result!!

Got the driver - not the front seat passenger. If he had been a bit more thoughtful he would have tipped the front seat so that the two in the back could have run too!

Got the driver, that's the main thing. The others can always wiggle out of it by saying they were forced into the car /being carried etc.
Always aim for the driver, FSPassenger next. Absolute bonus if you get them all.
