Hello folk of PH !

Long story short, my brother in law popped round the other day, has a 2007 BMW 520d (E60), lives out in Gillingham (Kent), said he does a fair few motorway miles, e.t.c ... And wants to re-map his car

Now, he's 'apparently' used Google, and can't find any places around him to do this. He probably doesn't know how to use a search engine.

He's asked me to ask around, first (and last place) would be to ask here. Does anyone know / used places in or around Kent for this? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Daljit.

Well AMD is only a hop over the bridge and it's right behind IKEA at Lakeside.

Cheers matey, I'll just forward that sentence on via text or something, the rest is up to him.

That's in Walsall, Quite a long way from Kent, although they do seem good, should be getting our BMW mapped there soon.

Pity I didn't know about it earlier, I might have been some help as I was in Dartford on Saturday!

Birmingham, but I had a couple of jobs in that area, so it spread out the travelling costs as otherwise it can make it less favourable.

Ohhh right, I'm fairly local, Looking to get a 535d Pre-Lci mapped soon, can you PM some details of your price and service please, if you remap them. Thanks

Dont. Just dont. AMD mapping sucks. I had my A4 2.0 tdi mapped from them and not only do they charge an arm and a leg, the mapping was just a generic file shoved onto my ECU. Power came in at 2 and finished by 4k rpm in an all mighty explosion of torque, certain to destroy my flywheel and clutch.

They also charge far to much for simple tweeking later on such as EGR delete etc.

Travel a little and visit the boys at R-Tech in Hinkley , near Coventry. Nick will look after you!

Lol, thanks for the heads up mate.

I've sent him the one you've recommended, and the one in Walsall mentioned earlier. Seeing as he does a lot of motorway miles I'm sure travelling won't be an issue for him!

Might end up getting it mapped by the PH'er above, "TheEnd", His price is good, power and torque output identical, and he seems to be fairly frequent on BMW specific forums, seems like he's a BMW enthusiast as well as tuner.

Well, you can catch me on bimmerforums.co.uk rather than turning here into a shop floor, but for diesel stuff, it's not a case of going for the maximum, it's keeping it safe and useable.
That's why you'll see most people do stick to similar arbitrary levels, with room for more or less if you ask.
