As title says, car has been clamped due to no tax.

Tax was up on it, fair doe's paid the fine etc.....but have to wait till tomorrow to get the clamp off? (car was clamped at 4.00pm today)

So, how can I piss them off when they release my car?

Any ideas??]

(as an FYI, I am annoyed that I phoned the clamper who said he was coming back to release the car.........which he didn't do!)

You want "revenge" on someone for clamping an untaxed car? Do you live in fourteenth century Italy and carry a stiletto, or something? Have you now taxed the yarmouth? If so, it is irksome that the car was not released today, and, strictly speaking, if you could prove any measurable loss, you might have a civil claim for damages, but, in real life, why not just shrug and remember the tax deadline next time?

You could fold your arms, turn your back and say you'll never be friends with him.

Plant seeds of revenge and let them grow. Then harvest the vegetables of revenge. And from those vegetables, plant more seeds. From the third or perhaps fourth harvest of revenge-plants, make a vegetable stew, and season it perfectly. With revenge!

Serve cold.

He might, of course, be commenting on their pulchritude rather than their sense of equity and balance or choice of hair dye. If so, well, it's maybe a tad weird to hold deer so dear, but, hey, whatever gets yer cookies.

I think you should say to him

"Fair one mate, you got me there and I should have paid my tax this month. You were just doing your job"

That will teach him a valuable lesson.

Seriously, you take the high ground on this one.

strong hate in this thread.

It happens to people all the time. I've seen several people post how they have been accidentally driving around without tax.

Does this make him a child killer/criminal?

The matter should be between him and the DVLA.

ph really has been steadily in decline.

I get a reminder in the post that my tax is due, just like I do my insurance, is it ok to drive around without insurance?

People forget, but most don't then deliberately try to make life hard for the person who reminded them.

Where's the hate? We're teasing the OP.

Renewing your tax disc online takes about two minutes.

The clamper dude probably knocks off at about 5 or 6 pm, and was probably some way away when you paid up. If you want a 24/7 response, so you can pay the fine online at 11pm and have the car released soon after, are you ok about paying the extra income tax to fund that?

No, it makes him a cretin for not keeping keeping a legal document up to date.

yes its absolutely fine.

Not everyone frequents their permanent address.

This is a matter between him and the dvla who coincidentally quite happily back track payment/roadtax date without issue after a week or two expiry.
