For some reason the file download problem has raised its head agian this weekend. Oddly only on pistonheads.com and not on pistonheads.co.uk and it affects me whether opening it with the AOL browser or IE, and in whether the AOL software is loaded or not.

The other problem has been that I was playing with Spybot and selected immunise I then couldn;t access sthe General or EWebsite Feedback forums as it said doubleclick which was a known threat was trying to download. I had a choice of allowing it to download or not, whichever I choose though meant I got no further! Oddly it ddn't affect Speed Plod and Law.

The file download issue should disappear within the next 10 days or so when the new servers come online.

As for the DoubleClick thing, that's down to the adverts being displayed at the time.

Personally I think the Doubleclick tracking cookies post no real threat to anyone's privacy but I know a few people have different views on that.

Agreed - but bizarrely when Spybot warns you about DoubleClick, it lets you choose "allow or deny" - even if you tell it to allow DoubleClick, the page still loads blank. If you View... Source, the whole page source is there - but nothing renders in the browser.

Unfortunately it's one of the few parts of the system outside of my direct control.

Which was the particularly irritating bit! Anyway now reversed the immunise on Spybot as being unable to read Pistonheads was too irritating!

Glad to see the file download problem is due to be resolved soon, although always been able to work round that one!
