The missus sold her XC70 and we bought one of these to replace it.
2007 Volvo S60 D5. 45k miles approx.
I've only had a quick test drive in it so far, but it's a typical Volvo. Excellent sound system. Comfy (memory seats). All the equipment you need. 6 speed manual. The trip computer says 46 mpg - and that's after the missus has been driving it around with her lead right foot.

Lovely cars. I used to have a 2.0T and it was great.

Funnily enough I was just looking at this on Parkers and thinking how good it looked.

Never seen one with a spoiler, you've got funny number plates too!

Quite discreet the little boot lid spoiler. I like it.
The car is on Swedish plates smile Resides in Sweden.

Aaah, I've only just noticed the fact that it's LHD too. The spoiler is quite nice, I think even the R's only got a diddy lip on the bootlid.

They are well proportioned in an anonymous kind of way. Good excuse for some photo weing I think...

Nice colour, and nice wheels. Also I just noticed the older ones have the headlight wipers. The newer ones have pop up jet-wash for the headlights.

Oh god, don't, that looks really nice, I came this close to buying a classic V70R 2 years ago and I keep looking at that shape. Found a gorgeous one in grey with bright orange leather... cloud9

I think the Headlamp Wipers were part of a factory option pack, Winter Pack perhaps.

Maybe in the UK. Standard equipment in Sweden, along with heated seats.

Don't quote me, but in the UK it was the Winter Pack as mentioned, heated seats, front windscreen demist and headlamp washers (wash wipe on the earlier models).

Seems to be quite alot of love for the S60 on here. My old man owned a new D5 back in 04 and it was a very nice car.

Yep mine has the heated seats too. Yes, when the facelift came out in '04 they removed the headlight wipers and just installed jets instead.

Just for the S60 love, have another pic...

Looks lovely that does they really suit the little boot lip don't they. I looked at getting one for mine but at 80quid I've not bothered.

My 2001 2.0T has heated seats, front demist and headlight washers/wipers so could have been a winter pack option.

I've only had mine since the end of Feb and although the 2.0T is pokey enough I'm hankering after a T5.

Bi-xenon ole chep !

The D5 is a decently pokey motor. A nice wave of diesel torque and 185hp.
The missus wants it chipped so we're looking at something like 220hp.
It's nice having a woman that knows a bit about motors and has a bit of enthusiasm for them, but it can be bloody expensive !

I wish I had HIDS.

If my 163 proves to be OK over the next month(s) ill think about a chip as well.
Ah, A Lex. Read your D5 Ebay/trip/journey/adventure. Great improvements made with the car !

I hope to soon make the trip to the UK and pick up a Shelby GT500. Then it'll be straight to Harwich, ferry to Esbjerg, and then either take the bridge from Copenhagen into Sweden, or perhaps up to Fredrikshavn and get a ferry to Gothenburg. Then I've got about 450 kms from Gothenburg, or 600 or so if I go to Malmö via the bridge.

That is very nice Andy, I keep looking at boot spoilers for mine...Volvo sell them pre-painted and with fitting kit here in the UK at a good price.
46mpg with a lead right foot! biggrin good effort, she drives like my Mrs then!!!

Yep Excellent sound system, very comfy, decent performance and all the kit.....I love them.

I look forward to hearing her thoughts on it after a few miles/months.
