Evening all, just booked the ferry to calais and am now starting to look at routes, we are going to have our first stop over at the nurburgring naturally as its on the way. We are then looking to drive to lake Constance then onto the black forest.
We are open to some suggestions on campsites to stay at and places to stop off and see too.

All help greatly appreciated

Doing a similar trip leaving on the 16th for a week, this is as far as I got planning :-

I've actually booked the tunnel and a hotel for the 1st night on the A35 25km from Strasbourg. Only going for a week now, did 2000miles round france in a week last year and it was fine, a link to my write up in in the first post of the above thread.

Went down that way for a fortnight many years ago. We used Lindau as a base for the first week, which puts you in range of many nice places in Austria and Switzerland, and Freudenstadt for the second week, which was ideal for exploring the Black Forest. It's worth a detour to Neuschwanstein Castle near Fussen.

On the north of the lake is Meersburg, we stopped off there and loved it.

We were on bikes and got space just turning up. You can request lakeside pitches but it's long and narrow so you're never far from the lake.

Uberlingen is a lovely town with a great shoreside walk with plenty of bars, boat trips etc
