Insurance Co's always want more!
Discussion
When you change cover for some reason, they always want more money.
I dropped to a slightly older car recently and 4 groups lower than my last car and 63bhp less and no turbo.
That'll be £45 extra to pay please Mr. Kentish.
I of course asked why given the above facts and the brokers reply was that it is a new car to me and I lack experience with it but my premium may come down a little next year. Speaking to me like I was 17 and had just passed my test!
What a crock!
I've been driving 25 years; I'm a PDI and hopefully an ADI by the end of this year and I have an excellent driving history but yes perhaps I'm too old now and a new car will confuse an old duffer of 43

Wow, anyone would think that they were a business trying to make money.
You cant win. The trick is to lose as least as possible.

Making money legitimately and taking the michael are two very different things. You cant win. The trick is to lose as least as possible.

I'm sure it didn't really matter what car I had changed to and how many groups lower, it still would have cost more - they rarely give money back.
This'll make you laugh.
I was once with Admiral and had a 2 car policy, I went down to one car and they wanted nearly £900

I argued with them for a couple of weeks and got a refund of £380.
No, they don't try it on at all

I sold my ZS and rang up to cancel the policy which had about 6 months remaining. £45 to cancel, plus a small pittance returned back to me for the 6 remaining months. This is on top of the £45 it cost me to add a named driver to the policy a few months back. They take the piss on a grand scale. Come the revolution etc...etc. :grr:
