So my dad has just text me saying he's collecting his new Megane 265 Cup tomorrow, with Recaros.

Only thing is, he's got to collect his 99 year old, very frail Granny on the way home, for a 40 mile drive back on NSL back roads

She used to complain about the lack of comfort in his mk6 Golf, what are the chances she'll not like the Megane?!

Surely he could use some main roads over a 40 mile trip?

Tell him drive as fast as he can, so she wont have to suffer for too long smile

Get him to take a few pillows to soften the seats up a bit for her?

IIRC the legroom in the front is such that if the granny is one of those proper little old ladies, her feet might not reach the floor - might be worth sticking a step stool or something in the boot just in case? Happy to be wrong on that one.

Suspect his driving will be able to make more difference than anything else.

On a serious note, I think her biggest struggle will be getting "over" the large side bolster to get into the seat.

I had the same style of recaros in my old Clio 197 and my dad (who has a bad back) would struggle to get over the high side bolster.

Yes but you can just use your medallion as a booster seat hehe

Medallion free my friend... had a Chimaera before that.

Golf clubs were of no assistance either

As mentioned above, getting over the bolstering will be her biggest problem. My mum/nan prefers to be in a long-ish car journey in recaro/sports seats than in flatter seats as they help her bad back no end as she's not rolling around in the seat around corners.

I guess you'll just have to sub her a taxi/bus/train/plane fare if she's not comfy. wink

I drove my 93 year old Granny two hundred odd miles in my Seat Leon Cupra-R last week and she commented how much she likes the car about a dozen times. We had a run up to a hundred miles an hour and a couple of fast acceleration runs too.

She was a tractor and lorry driver for the Land Army then the WRNS during the war and has always liked driving ever since, though her eyesight curtailed her at about eighty-five.
