Anyone know anything about Subaru Tribeccas?
Discussion
Morning all,
Looking at moving my Outback on in the near future, and having test driven a Lexus RX at the weekend and been left a little cold by it, now taken a fancy to the Tribeca.
Never seen one on the road, they're ugly as anything, but have got great spec for the dosh. Anyone owned/driven one? Like/loathe them?

There was a thread in the subaru forum a couple of months ago.
I looked at tribecas when they first came out, and was really impressed with them. Never got around to getting one, but you are right they have huge kit, esp if you get the SE7 version, although the dash plastic is a bit cheap feeling, being subaru I would imagine they last well

Hi Luke,
Yeh I've driven a couple over the years.
Was in the same boat as you over year ago but was getting rid of my WRX Wagon .. funnily enough I bought an Outback instead!
They are good at the job they do , but not the cheapest to run:
- 3.0 H6 will average 20-25mpg in the Tribeca , currently getting 24-26mpg with the same engine in my Outback.
- £460 a year RFL
But they are very comfy to drive, and I like the spaceage interior.
IMO ignore the SE5 cloth trim and go for the SE5 or SE7 leather seats .. some come with the dvd + cordless headphones for the kids in the back.
I went for the Outback in the end as I just didn't need a car that big, and I grudge the £460 a yr when I use my car 2 or 3 days a week max.
Here's my old thread ..

Test drove one with the FinLaw a couple of years ago whe he was looking at Big SUV's was a decent car, though a bit thirsty! Problem was it has the looks only a mother could love and we never got the facelift car over here!I looked at tribecas when they first came out, and was really impressed with them.
