I have two preferred dealers to use for the major on my recent RR Vogue.

LHD has suggested using Stratstone in Pickering. However, it is a bit of a haul to get over there, so I have my local one which is Ripon (used to be Ripon Farm Services).

Ripon have been going for a long time and they are not as huge as Stratstone so it might be a bit more personal service, I don't know.

Does anyone have any views? If Pickering comes out as a clear favourite then it is no problem travelling.

I am aware of Farnell's but Ripon or Pickering are my preferred options.

Hi - I have used RFS myself and the service there has been exceptional. The dealer principle is also very personable and goes out of his way to assist (I even got a tour of the workshop from him and access to some of the cars they had in there) when determining spec of my Disco 4.

Ripon Land Rover is your best option. Good friendly service from a good local business!.. They are very busy so I would give them plenty of notice.

Thanks guys, that's comforting and I do tend to prefer dealing with the smaller businesses than the huge groups.

Ripon LR are great AL. The sales manager, Graham, lived in my village in Yorkshire and several friends had cars bought and looked after there. Top people by all accounts.

Cool - it's booked in for a week on Tuesday. At over £1000 however, I won't be getting my tow bar from them!

Another recommendation for Ripon ; absolutely faultless sales and the service department .
For example , we bought a three year old FL2 from them . I popped it back in for some minor niggle ( can`t remember what ) and it came back with free discs and pads on the rear as the workshop had inspected them and found them to be half worn .
Always comes back valeted and competative for tyres .
I`m in no way associated with the company , I just appreciate good quality service .

That having been said , when looking for a FL , in the interests of research , we travelled to another North Yorks dealership based at the bottom end of the North Yorks Moors , and the sales manager wouldn`t come down from his mezzanine to speak to us ....
