hi all
my brother in-law is looking to upgrade from BMW 320d and is thinking of buying a Audi S5 its a 2008 4.2 with 40k on the clock

but what are they like to live with?

anyone have one? what right about them and whats wrong with them?

help plz

apart from the power upgrade would it be a big upgrade regards smile factor and build quailty?

or what else would 20k buy you....

thanks

I haven't driven an S5, but the V8 RS4 is generally reckoned to be a better car and can be bought for that money. As for other options, well what are his requirements?

You can get a good 996 Carrera, in either convertible or hard-top form, for 20k these days. Plus all manner of two seaters.

I'd rather have the S5, but if he's a tart then maybe a 996 Cab would be an option.

The 4.2 V8 is a great engine though, and sounds especially good with a Milltek or similar.

E90 335i Cab M-sport

You'll get a 08 or 09 minter for that money and with less miles.

They go like stink and will likely drive better than the Audi.

Loved my S5 - maybe ask for more opinions in the Audi forum, quite a few owners and ex-owners in there.

We have one, all be it a 2011 car.

did not like the auto, so we have a manual, never thought I would like it so much, it really is great to drive, once you get used to it.

avoid poverty spec ones though...

No, be 'shore' to pose something about how cyclists should pay road tax, they really like that.

Are there any poverty spec S5s? A5s maybe but most S5s I've seen appear well spec'd?
