Stunning 924s needs a good home and some TLC !
Discussion
So – a genuine offer here.
I have a 924S which has just run out of MOT (last week) and tax (tomorrow) and is generally in excellent mechanical and bodywork condition.
The car has been ours since 2001, and has a whole stack of receipts, as well as old MOTs. It’s done just under 80000 miles and has never let us down.
It was registered as a write off about 8 years ago because someone reversed into it with a 4x4 and the insurance company wrote it off instead of repairing it (I bought it back for a few hundred quid and took it to a local body shop to be fixed - the damage was on the wing and entirely comsetic)
There are too many cars at my house at the moment (apparently, so Mrs G says) and something has to go. I’m reluctant to spend on the little 924 as it’s worth very little and gets used infrequently.
Ive tried advertising the car twice in the past couple of months (for a modest amount) but frankly, all I got was timewasters, tyre kickers and breakers. My conclusion is that with good, cheap, non Cat C 924s' out there, its unlikely to shift anytime soon for anything other than peanuts.
She looks stunning, goes fantastically and apart from some tatty seats, really looks the part.
So my offer it this - if anyone can pick the car up this week in N Kent / SE London and give her a good home, then I will let her go for free. Yes free.
Whilst I can't control what you do with the car, I'm going to put my faith in the PH collective to do the right thing - if you're looking for a quick profit on EBAY or by breaking the car into parts, please please please pass this one by. If you would genuine like to give a new home to an old girl, create a track car, drive a cool old Porsche and generally enjoy the car, drop me a line.
If you have an overwhelming urge to part with some cash for the car, then I'm sure there are lots of charities out there who'd appreciate a donation... I'll leave that one to you...

MattGTA - I've just got off the phone from my parents (whose driveway/garages I use and who would be driving down to collect it if they allow me to have another car), if you can hold on till Saturday then I am going to meet up with them, having given them time to consider the proposal and arrange any logistics.
regards,
Matt

now if you'll juat send me your bank details and wire £1 to my Western Union account, I'll arrange delivery...
Thanks so much, I am happy to make a donation to a charity, and as I said can collect at any pretty much any time. I you could ping me PM/I'll send you one if I can work out how to do so to sort everything out.now if you'll juat send me your bank details and wire £1 to my Western Union account, I'll arrange delivery...
On a separate note I think that PH may get an awful lot of laughs as I attempt to maintain and run the car in the future as the obligatory readers cars thread will be made!
ETA. Just seen your post, thanks again!
