Supra 3.0 Auto Spec and Performance?

Hi All,
I am looking at purchasing a replacement for my 2000 Reg 230K SLK and require another auto again due to various reasons but with 2 jump seats as it were for occasional use by offspring.
Just wondered in relative terms about the performance of a 3.0 auto N/A supra vs the Merc - I am guessing roughly equal if not better. MPG though not a massive concern would be interesting as I get about 30-35 with spirited driving.
