I have enrolled on a series of classses based at a garage in Ringwood and wondered if anyone else on here had any experience of them or similar classes?

I really want to have a go at looking after my own car but never quite pluck up the courage to actually do something, because I need my car for work and think (know) I will end up breaking it. Hopefully this course will give me the confidence to try things like oil changes, brake pad/disc replacement etc.

It is through Brockenhurst College, held at HDM Autos in Ringwood. They only run a few courses a year and the next one starts on 15th June - they will probably have places left as until this week I was waiting for confirmation they were running it due to low numbers.

You need to contact the Ringwood Adult Learning office on 01425 472224 , or go the the college website and search for basic car maintenance.

From the College website

Basic car maintenance.
Covers MOT inspection and repairs.
Fault finding.

So not as indepth as I would like but useful I think as a starting point.

I cant do the June 15th one as it is on Friday evenings and I will be away for 3 out of the 5 nights.

Going to go for the August one I think.
