Just see how far the nearest one is from you there is more out there then you would think

Yes i know you all live in a flat, drive 500miles a day and all electric cars burst into flames 28 times a day

Have to say the website would work a lot better if it had a postcode locator function (and it would appear to be at least 15 miles closer to 20 from my home for a rapid charge point)

None that close to me, however there is one right next to where I work although it says the point is not yet connected. About a 50 mile round trip from work to my house so could be useful in the future I guess provided the cost of buying the car and replacing batteries comes down. Then I can have my EV to get to work and my V8 for the weekends. evil

Although by then there will probably be a different type of tax to make it more expensive.

What? I would have to travel from Oldmeldrum/Inverurie into Aberdeen just to charge the EV. 'Am oot. laugh

I do have a drive, but I'm going to convert that into a street and knock my house down and replace it with a flat so I'll fit in with everyone else on PH in the world. After I've shaved my head and got a few more directorships...

I'm surprised, I live out in the sticks and there's one only a mile from my house at a train station. I didn't think there'd be any.

They are trying to locate them at commuter hubs where people naturally switch from a car to a train and the outer parts of major cities.

The idea being that EVs have limited range so the only users are those with a less than 5 mile commute but wont be parking at the other end in an office car park etc.

So, remote but significant train stations, around apartment blocks and in central commercial car parks are the key places.

Quite a few people around here with Smarts, Minis, Gwiz, Teslas and something French that looks like an older fiesta. So quite a few charge points although most have off street parking and most central London NCPs have charge points.

I've been following the Tesla S as that would ideal for me but I went off it when they announced it was all to be controlled by a touch screen which I feel makes it a lethal death trap as you can't use feel to find any controls but have to take your eyes off the road to do anything. I feel it's a catastrophic error that makes it unsaleable.

Hmm, 2 slow charge points 45 miles away and a fast one 88 miles away from me. Handy.

The slow ones would be useable if you had an afternoon out planned nearby

The fast one not so handy

http://www.chargeyourcar.org.uk/searchmap.php is a good one if you live in the North East of England or London.

As much charge as you want for £10 a month.
