ConfusedI am in the process of removing the rack end but find that it refuses to budge from the rack.
It isn't seized as there is a slight movement.
I am aware of a 3ml drill hole on the fixing but doesn't look as if it is the end of a pin.
Any ideas before i apply the usual force where something may break.
Thanks

You mean the securing cap on the end of the rack that keeps the track rod in place? It usually has a screwed locking ring. Once the correct pre-load is applied, you drill a hole at the joint between the cap and lock ring and hammer in a pin.
In my experience of Wedge racks, the lock ring is often welded to the cap and needs slitting with a grinder to get them apart.

Thanks for the info, i can get the lock ring and cap to move independantly but only slight. The filled drill hole must be the pin then, i'll give it a go.
