Hello all never ventured in here before smile apart from the threadCotty's portion sizes!

Just wondering if there are any fellow dark rum drinkers in here. My favourite seems to Mount Gay or Morgan spiced. I'm getting a bit bored of having it just with coke and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or cocktail style drinks I can make. As long as I can get the ingredients from Tesco etc.

Cheers

And if you really want to go for it, you can make a Dark & Very Stormy: substitute the regular ginger beer, for an alcoholic variety like Franks.

Can't beat ginger beer.

Cloudy lemonade is excellent too.

Sailor Jerry for me, or Woods If I'm feeling retro smile

Mount Gay is just the distillery, it's not the particular rum.

90% of the time, "Mount Gay" over here will be Eclipse which is, basically, rough as a badgers arse.

In Bim, it's 25p a shot, with a squirt of Sprite it gets you going.

Mount Gay XO is teh daddy.

Bloody lovely drink.

I'm usually quite happy with a Cuba Libre. Captain Morgan's is a very good rum for a mass produced item. Kraken is also very nice.

You can't go wrong with a small tumbler of Cuba libre and lots of ice.

Kraken is very, very sweet to me. Too much.

El dorado's range is FAB.

Cuba libre isn't a rum (afaik) it's rum, coke, lots of lime.
