Does anyone have the specs for the gas springs/struts for the passenger doors for a GTR? I can do the basic measurements, but as far as amount of force, not sure how to measure. I emailed Specialty Fasteners and Components LTD, and waiting for their reply as the numbers on the strut/spring don't show up when I search. I know I can get one from the UK via Ultima Sports, or SFC, but would prefer to order via McMaster.com and have it in one day domestically here in the USA. One of the clevis' at the door was damaged and the spring was bent sadly. The numbers on mine are SWA8P5110172E92-350N-178482-34/07
Any help is appreciated.

I suspect the Factory struts are a custom number with a pressure arrived at by experimentation.
You could do the same if the price difference stateside justified it.
You buy a strut with the same dimensions but charged higher than you need. You then release a small grub screw to lower the pressure. You then send the unit back to the manufacturer to have it re-charged because you let too much out. Been there, done that.

Zac : measure the strut for full collapsed and full extended then measure the Diameter of the inner steel shaft. with this info go to a Napa store and they can match the strut. Second suggestion is go to Mc Master Carr and the strut ends the plastic part that normally breaks first, is available seperatley for about a dollar put a couple in stock. Lee Edit; The shaft Diameter relates to the spring rating for the strut.
