Not so much on the way out, when I will probably scoot round to the north and east of Liege then south to the junction nearest Spa.

More on the way home, anything to be gained by going west then north from Spa, through Liege. Looks like the autoroute turns into a dual carriageway, then a tunnel in the town centre, then DC back to the autoroute and away to the west

Is this a "short cut" or should I stick to the longer but likley faster way round

Thanks

i came back thru Liege/Antwerp/Brugge this week and tbh the Brussels route is faster would it not be for the Brussells roadworks

Maybe go E42 south via Lille which ive done and i think is better

I used to use the E42 right through, but it's an old road, and there's usually roadworks somewhere along it. When there are, delays can be long.

Yep, been caught out on the E42 once. Long long tailback through road works, French drivers VERY impatient and aggressive, not that any of us were going anywhere fast.

Looks like the Brussels ring road again then, not at peak times though so hope for the best

Thanks
