The annual "can't make it so must recreate all the fun of the fair back home thread"!!!

How (if like me can't go to Le Mans this year) do you plan on recreating the athmosphere and fun of camping in a French field and watching the greatest race on the planet?

Answers on a post card, lol, well here really.

Put up a gazebo in your backyard, install a TV there, drink your beer from a coolbox stuffed with ice instead of from the fridge, BBQ, Radio Le Mans over the stereo or on crappy headphones, wear orange and blue clothing, sent the better half away for at least 4 or 5 days and have a few guys over.
Sleep in a tent, not in your own bed.

Surely use the fridge, just put it ouside and run it off a generator. Oh and everyone must do they're best to find red sausages!

Last year we set up tents in a field, big screen tv + mobile sat in a barn. It was alright, had a good laugh and only watched about 3 hours of the race because of race beer.

But only if it is run from next door's garage on an extension lead.

Don't forget to invite random people in from the street to perform doughnuts on your front garden and remember to only use the outside toilet - ensure there is only one sheet of paper before you start though. Any more than one sheet of paper must be discarded down the pan and with luck will totally block the drain.

Held together with a shed load of gaffer tape!

Every year I stay in a nice Chateau with a pool, so as I am staying at home it will seem much the same smile

Especially if I walk along the side of the main road for 15 hours eating food from the burger vans in the layby's.

Really miffed I can't make it AGAIN this year.

I really should have gone last year tbh, this year is just impossible. I could have done it last year if I wasn't such a tt with wanting 3 cars when I don't even drive to work.

Now I've missed all the Audi v Peugeot battles (being a massive Peugeot fan myself) and probably any chance of an Aston coming near to a class win.

Still, I shall be staying up, on my own again for all 24hrs. It's the best race in the World. One day I shall be there.

I am one who is missing the action at La Sarthe this year. The Westfield will be parked in the garage instead of being abused in the Loire. I have seen a few battles between Audi and Peugeot and being from the south of Scotland, always wanting Alan McNish to be successful.

Working in Germany next weekend so cant even get to watch it.

I am gutted, but roll on next year when I will be there without fail.

You're fairly local to me, right? We need to set up a local meet for this. I have Sky HD with Eurosport.

Sadly my house is nowhere near big enough to host such an event.

WIll hopefully be getting together with a couple of friends who cant make it this year either.
BBQ, with red sausages (I think tesco have them)
Fire pit for warmth mid race, plenty of stubbies kept cold in small paddling pool, (along with bottle wall)
Pointless flag atop of fishing rod to single out our pad, (even though its in the garden we still may get lost)
GT on PS3, and RLM for regular updates as eurosport is a lil, well ste lol.
