Haven't been for 3 or 4 years - any notable changes?

Am going to LM again after a (forced) absence for a few years. Have there been any relevant changes I should be aware of? Am going with Speed Chills. Can you still drive on some of the circuit on the Friday? Are the French cops as enthusiastic as ever?

French cops are even worse. Seriously.
The toilets have improved greatly around the Bugatti Circuit/Village area if nowhere else.
The racing has got, IMHO, a bit st. (But then I've not been that keen since the last 962 victory...........)

last year's racing was one of the beast ever, with close racing at the front in almost every class

But we knew all along that one of two teams would win and that was that. I miss the days when any one of 12 or 15 cars was in with a shout - really the heyday of Group C in fact.

Wasnt the closing laps of the race that close because soooo much of it was run behind a pace car?

I hate pace cars. Stupid idea particularly on a circuit the size of Le Mans. Trouble is sponsors love pace cars as it bunches the field together and gives the slower running cars that don't usually catch much TV time as much as the leading cars

Couple of changes you'll notice:

You'll find out that the area around what used to be Houx Annexe has been destroyed by the placement of a football stadium and large carpark.

Tram is easier to get on for the trip into Le Mans town centre.

N138 route there and back isn't what it used to be now most take the toll roads
