Managed to drive in to a tow bar on Saturday. Actually drive is too strong a word - more like roll with almost imperceptible speed.

However, the impact was sufficient enough to put an 8cm T shaped tear in the fibre-glass, right on the front of the bonnet.

It's my own fault, I was trying to park in a tight space, but the b*****ds tow bar did stick out by about a foot and a half.

And so on to the point of my drivel - Is it best to just take it back to Mole Valley for repair, or is there a better/ cheaper specialist repair place in the South East? Also, how difficult is the fibre glass to repair - is it a patch up or new front bonnet section?

There are strict regulations about how far a tow bar sticks out. A foot and a half sounds too long to me. Legally it could be his fault if the Tow bar is illegal (could save you some no claims). A mate of mine hit a car with a similar tow bar at a roundabout and the driver of was very cagey especially when an off duty policeman from the car behind pointed out it was illegal and as far as he was concerned the accident had been caused by the illegal tow bar.
