Dont' have it but have heard it and it is utterly brilliant! Not sure if it's £3k though! But if you're really into high end hifi, linn sonndeck and the like, then it probably is worth it.

Nope - can't understand why Porsche don't have this even as an option? It makes no sense, every other car manufacturer seems to have this as an option?

Order the TV module and you get the digital radio receiver with it. Not sure it's worth over £1,000.00 for that though smile

I've got the Burmester and TV option in the Panamera. In one word - marvellous. The high frequency clarity is fantastic, and it has power in reserve. It does not tire you to listen to the system - a sure sign it's good. Only issue of course is that iPod sound quality is shown up by the Burmester - I prefer to use CDs to get the best effect.

It helps of course that the Panamera is whisper quiet at motorway speeds.

Cheers

I listen mostly to Xfm on DAB - not available over TV frequencies I believe.

How do you find Xfm? I have DAB in the car but don't know how to use it. You can't just type in frequencies, can you? BBC 1xtra mine has been on since i got it.

I'm surprised it's not pre-set to BBC Asian network and Bhangra Radio.

Somewhere it will probably have "auto tune" or somesuch which will load the local stations it finds. Then you'll probably find you have menu driven station selections, eg local DAM and national stations.

Yes, it gives me all the crappy local stations with a right or left click of the button. Not seen an option to go into national stations though. I was thinking this DAB thing is like freeview, just 10 x as many channels of st

I'll have to have a fumble with the options / settings etc then. I'm not great with new-tech. If i can't work it in 28 seconds, it's crap

Worth persevering with. Not sure what music you're into but I find that shuffling between Kiss, Xfm and Absolute 90s keeps me entertained.

Stefan,
have you tried to convert your CD's to Apple Lossless or equivalent. There should be a noticeable difference over your standard 128kbps conversion if you playing through a high end system. The downside is that the files are much larger and so take up more space on your ipod, plus if you buy from iTunes you can't download in this higher resolution format, but rather iTunes plus.

Yeah all of the above really, with a bit of Chas and Dave at the weekends. You surprise me Manks, i thought you'd be more of a Roy Orbison type of genre.
