Looking for something to replace my Corolla Tsport which just had the big end go. Only do 5k a year so MPG is not a big concern. Am 22 with 2 years ncb so insurance needs to be sensible but is not a big worry and willing to spend a bit so I can get something reasonably quick. Could be a hatch (3 door preferable ) or coupe. Would like something turbo really as never had a Turbo before and fancy a change from a high revving NA.
Would like something with around 200bhp as the Corolla had 189 and reasonable torque.Any ideas ? Cheers.

My first thought too, 200sx. Try finding a manual that hasn't been extensively messed with though!

Considered a convertible OP? MR2, MX-5, Z3 2.8 etc.

Turbo, torquey, insurance sensible (relative to Germans with comparable performance) and estates are cooler than coupés aren't they?

Considered these but got a mate who had a e46 323 ad it had all maner of things going wrong. Seemed pretty unreliable. Not to keen o. The image really either so would probably rule it out.

Cupra's are very reliable if looked after. Easy to tune 300hp with a few mods.

Buy my EP3 Type R ;-)

I'm 22 also with 3 yrs NCB, £1k insurance with Flux Direct

Facelift, A/C, DVD. You know it makes sense ;-)

ETA: Just noticed you want a change from a high-revving na. Doh!

What about Audi s3's?
Been looking at them and 4k gets a 2001 with high mileage mapped to 250 odd brake, nice interior aswell. 4wd. Worth considering?

I like the rx8 but isn't there a serious engine problem with them when they all need rebuilding at 80k or something ?

The rx8 is about as high revving n/a as they get. Not what the op wanted.
