ive got the chance to own a ducati 996, my dream bike. needs a few bits doing to be "just so" but the price is favourable.

the problem is, i cant bring myself to part with my existing road bike. my mk1 blade. ive had it nearly twelve years and it fits like an old pair of jeans, although it could benefit from a suspension rebreathe and possibly dynojetting. anyway that's besides the pont.

am i the only one who suffers with this? ive always dreamed of owning a ducati but now i actually can, i cant bear the thought of parting with the blade.

Love the way you've titled the thread 'vehicles' so it fits in GG rather than BB!

Unless you're really strapped for cash, get both.

The 996 still looks pure sex and would look good in my lounge. In fact if I had a country pad, it would be in the lounge. Or possibly the bedroom.

Anyway, your 'blade isnt worth much so no point getting rid. Get the Duke bought.

I look after my cars and am the same.

I can change and I'm an enthusiast - so there's loads of other options I would like at any time, but really can't justify the change on any of my three cars - family bus, commuter & weekend.

Problem is there's so much out there to try and you only live once and all that.

aye, i know what you mean. i think the real issue isnt space or affording it, but that it would replace the duties of the blade. i wouldnt use it anymore and so realistically it would be done with. i have just looked up stats though and apparently the 996 is heavier and makes less power than my rrn blade, can that actually be true?
