355 Headlights out of synch...anyone help please??

The headlights go up fine.However when switching off 1 goes back down flush and 1 goes down but remains about 2 inches up. When I turn them on again this one goes down before going up again.
I have adjusted the wheels behind to get it down easily enough so i can drive without it looking wrong...but does anyone know how to get them back in synch because it always goes back to this when they are used.I tried a search on ferrarichat and here but to no avail.

Any ideas please?

I would try some of the Lotus boys as Excel and Esprit owners will have plenty of experience dealing with this problem - it's similar to the park position of windscreen wipers and might be a dirty contact within the gearbox on the side of the headlamp motor. I'm not an expert however but from memory it's not an impossible job.
