CTek conditioner plumbed in or via cigarette socket?

Hi folks, picked up my first TVR a 1998 Chimaera on Weds.
My CTek conditioner arrived the day before & I was just wondering what the general concensus is - am I better off plumbing it into the battery terminals, or using one of the adapters to condition via the cigarette lighter (this is more accessible when car is in the garge)?

What's the general opinion?

Its a better and more reliable connection to have it wired directly to the battery,but either is ok really,just make sure if you use the cig lighter that the connecting surfaces inside the lighter socket are clean. I run the cables on my last one directly from the battery,under the carpet and into the boot so the unit sits handy inside the boot(on top of the tank) when being used and can be disconnected in the boot for ease when I unplug it and take it out altogether. I guess the most convenient site for it also depends on where your nearest power socket is to plug the unit into?

The wiring to my old 98 chim's cigarette socket was badly carbonized and could barely handle the current to run a sat nav.

If running a trickle charger along wire like this it is a fire hazard due to the Internal resistance increase and heat build up.

I would make sure the wiring is 100% before using it.

I had to cut the wire right out till it was inside the car and re-solder new lengths in.

It is a convertible so it must have got wet inside every now and then

Just ordered the M10 connectors to go direc to the battery to be on the safe side :-)
