Still Using Jaguar Parts ?!
Discussion
Quite funny on the factory floor... Almost all the blue parts boxes that the components are moved around in are badged VOLVO in huge white letter!
Would cost AM £2MM to change them, as they said, just not worth it!
Nothing wrong with Jag, Volvo or parent Ford bits. Ford's ownership gave us the reliable and properly tested cars we have today

It's the same at the Rolls Royce factory but with BMW on the boxes. Would cost AM £2MM to change them, as they said, just not worth it!

Agree, nothing wrong with it - as long as you can't easily see it!
The Pagani Zonda uses the same air con controls as an MG ZS and no one seems to mind.
The reason why Lexus are so good/ reliable is because the parts have been tested in literally millions of Toyotas.
So if mass produced is best - harsh but true for the oily bits -Aston need to tie up with one of the big boys for the parts and focus on style ,craftsmanship and packaging to be able to compete - see Porsche,Lamborghini, etc

Indeed - Lexus is Toyota as Acura is Honda or Infiniti is Nissan so of course it's their stuff! So if mass produced is best - harsh but true for the oily bits -Aston need to tie up with one of the big boys for the parts and focus on style ,craftsmanship and packaging to be able to compete - see Porsche,Lamborghini, etc
Would Lambo have survived without VW's ownership? I doubt it, there would have been no Gallardo and the Murcie equivalent would have been the same quality as a Diablo.
Can AM keep Ford's standards on their own? Let's hope so, they have so far I think.
