Poor spark!
Check your dizzy cap and rotor arm make sure it's all good, you can get arcing on the inside of the cap which creates a carbon track so Change for oem not britparts and the like

Fouled injectors- the fuel is not atomised properly, so it washes the plug on one side as it enters the combustion chamber. Try a bottle or two of injector cleaner cleaner first off.

Are they the correct plug of the correct heat range and how do you drive your car? If you're just pottering around you may be running a bit rich. Has the car had some spirited driving to warm things up a bit. A picture would be helpful but personally, so long as it's firing evenly on 8 cylinders and the plugs aren't wet I wouldn't be to concerned. Can you post up a picture?

hi there,
it has the stock B7ECS plugs in that i just recently changed, the old ones had the same pattern.
The car is driven in a very spirited manner :-) so is given a good blast most times its out.

The pattern isnt even across the plugs. It is also running very poorly at the moment, so am going through all the possibilities.

Just been checking out its servicing records etc and it appears it was hardly used over a 6 year period. some years only going to the MOT station and back.

Will defo give the injector cleaner a try and see how that goes.

You could start the engine in the dark and raise the bonnet to see if the plug leads are arking all over the place.
