Engine Vibration

I've got a S1 Elise and I'm getting a sort of engine vibration / noise at about 3400RPM in all gears. Has anybody got any ideas?

Also has anybody yet cracked the old chestnut of radio reception?

I had a similar problem with my relatievly early build S1 (Nov '97). It was resolved by the dealer sticking adhesive matting on to the floor under both seats.

It was black so you could barely tell any difference and it changed the resonant point of the floor and thereby solved the problem.

I beliebe that later build S1s came with a crease in the floor to solve the resonance problem.

I also have noticed resonance on my S2. It started after fitting the janspeed exhasust and occurs at 2500 revs. It does now appear to be getting better - I assume this is becasue all the screws have now rattled loose. However, I think the Janspeed exhaust is no longer available (didn't they go out of business) - although B&C may be making it under licence.

Is this the same problem you are discussing?

I'm getting my dealer to have a look at next week, they think it's possibly the rear undertray.
