Just about to wade thru 1300 pics from yesterday.

Other than ones out of focus, empty track, what else do i bin?

I have some with the top of the crash fence in view would you bin it or crop the fence out?

I have some with lots of sky/buildings above the car , would you crop the area above the car, so you have lots of car , not much above and a bit of track where the cars going?

Ummm, there aren't any rules about what to keep or what to bin....but unless you can think of a use for 100's mediocre shots then why would you keep them?confused Just keep the best ones. I find it easier to pick out the good ones, rather than working the other way around and rejecting the bad....then I usually do another 'sweep' to filter the keepers a bit more then finally go through really carefully to get rid of anything unnecessary or repetitive.

Again not quite sure what kind of answer you're expecting as it's completely dependent on context. If an image can live with a non-standard crop, or is otherwise good enough to warrant photoshopping then go for it, but I wouldn't want to do that for 1000+ images though!

Just FYI I expect about a 10% keep rate when I go to a race event (as in ones that see the light of day) but even that's too many pictures in some respects....not many people will have the patience to view 100+ images in an online gallery, especially if many are a bit samey, so consider your audience when you make the selection. If you can't answer the question 'what is this picture adding to this set?' then leave it out.

I'm intending do get it down to 20 pics, the fence question is because there's great pic but the tip of the fence is in it but is easily cropped out.

There's another with 2 marshalls in the background would you leave them in or crop them out?

You'll need to post all 1300 so we can have a poll.

Seriously chap, it's up to you - do what you think/like best. Nobody can offer any meaningful opinion without seeing them.
