Fantastic photo's!

Amazing how much cars have changed over the years, especially if you compare it to the Sauber video on youtube showing a cut through of an F1 car. The safety design these days is incredible.

The small post to the left of big one with the street sign on it, is the same post that's on the bottom one which is green. It's just had the box thing on the side put on it and the top painted red.

I'm only on my phone so the pictures aren't the clearest but the top bit (which is painted red in the bottom one) looks the same and in the bottom picture there are what looks like hinges on the post which is clearly shown on the top one too.

If you look on Street View, the box on the side has been added and the top is slightly different but it has straps on the top and mid way up the same in both pics and the base is the same. Curious to know what it is

Scary the number of collisions involving trees in those pics. I had some involvement in the design of passively safe sign posts a few years ago (they collapse instead of killing you). Amazing how much energy is involved in a tree/post impact and how much damage it does. Witnessing real crash tests is enlightening.

As the skiing saying goes "Trees always win".
