Hello,

TrackScotland are running a 4hr Open Pit trackday @ Knockhill using the REVERSE layout on the 4th July. http://trackscotland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=...

I logged in to pop this in the events Wiki thing (that was discussed at length last year) but I cant find it?! Where has it gotten to?

I've the week off when this is on, depending on how the bill looks when I get the car back from the garage I may be on track. Even if not, I might just head down with a camera anyway smile

I think it'll be a superb night. Can't wait to experience the circuit the 'wrong' way round. It'll be a lot of fun.

namesake, you are welcome to have some passenger runs in the mobile chicane if you like, its been the introductory car for a few folk now! If you do go (i recommend it massively), do get instruction. I went as a passenger my first trip, worth it to understand etiquiette and it opens your eyes quite a bit, as small as knockhill is my wife never understood the fascination, she cam passenger last month and she will be getting first instruction on this outing...

Well if I'm there I'll look for you! smile I have been on a few track days, but not for the last 2 years or so (that long!?). Trying the reverse track would be interesting!

So what were folks thoughts on the reverse layout?

Would you prefer more reverse or more of the conventional layout? Our next is 'normal'

I'd prefer more reverse, about half and half makes sense. Think there are a few more sections that promote congestion on the reverse layout though - that could just be because it's shiny and new however?

Dunc.

yup, i found the reverse layout more congested too BUT I think that was just down to most folk being unsure of it, so no real flow yet.

Yeah one of the problems is approaching clarks, it's hard to tell if the car in front is moving left to let you past or taking a wide line round the railway bend to get a straighter braking zone into clarks.

You can see it at the start of the vid on trackscotland with the clio, it's moving over to the left to let me past but I wasn't sure so I backed off then realised what was happening and went past but had to leave space at clarks on the inside just in case. Little did I know it would have been my only chance that whole night of a clean lap but for that lol.

Ever put the feelers out for fast and slow sessions, sub/over 1min lap times?

Dunc.
