Is there a trick to loosening the nut on the front upper ball joint?

When I try, my sockets seem to foul on the inside of the housing before it engages with the nut. Everything I have found just says loosen with a 19 mm socket but doesn't work for me.

I am also having trouble fitting the new upper wishbone, you need 4 hands to hold everything, is there a trick I am missing on this as well?

you need to get a thiner walled 19mm that fit's before it hits the side walls...
.
on fitting the top arm?.. try pushing a pencil one side whilst fitting the other.. then going back to fit the second side?...
that said, I didn't have any problems at all??..

I have tried 3 different sockets so I may have to grind one down but I would have expected the bible to comment on the need for a special socket.

I will try a pencil & see if that works better but it fits fine without the thrust washers just won't go in with them fitted.

Thanks.

I can't remember having problem with the nut (one of the bolts was totally rusted solid) might have used a cheap socket set, could you jam an open ended spaner on the nut and use the socket on the bolt end.

I spot glued the spacers and bushes in place using a glue gun, it was quite easy to pick off when everything was in place.

It's the nut on the bottom of the upper ball joint so there is no bolt to jam, it's possible the ball joint is spinning though but nothing obviously moving.

I will try some glue if the pencil doesn't work.

Cheers
