Hi Guys,wavey

Haven't posted much here as I have been too busy enjoying my 400!
Anyway..about the car, when I purchased her the interior had faded to a ugly yellow/green colour instead of the blue that it should of been.

While at Chatsworth (80mph in the rain and enjoyed every minute!!)biggrin I met a guy who mentioned to me that he was going to swap his blue interior (blue with cream piping)out of his red 400. Believing in fate, I swapped details, edxchanged coin and over the course of a couple of weeks I received my parcel containing the booty!

With a promise to be at an event on the 17th of this month... this week would be my only opportunity to get the work done, so I started on Sunday and managed to finish on monday evening.

Heres some pics!

I still have the doorcards to do and to clean up the leather seats..Hopefully should have it finished by the weekend!

You may be thinking.."why go for a 2nd hand interior on your pride and joy?"
The answer always boils down to finances.... and seeing as I had time on my hands I thought it would be a good time to get acquainted with her plus save myself a few hundred pounds along the way!

Thought that it looked lighter, perhaps an Olympic blue or similar!

I'm thinking of doing this too. Did you discover any tips i.e. bits to take out first or put in last etc, any difficult bits?
Cheers

Well Done Patrick.

Looks like your time and patience has given you the result you were after.

Thats 2 of us happy with our new interiors.

Not the easiest of jobs but so rewarding to see the result.

Neil.

Congrats.

I just know I wouldn't have the patience to do that.

Luck for me, I negotiated a new interior on mine which Fernhurst had the pleasure of fitting!

(Fitted very well BTW, if anyone doesnt fancy doing this themselves)...

For the person wanting to know what colour my car is,it is Topaz Blue!:-)

To Whipmawhopma...Id say go for it!! Neil400 will agree with me that the hardest part we found was getting the carpet off from the tunnel under the dash....there must be 6-8 inches of carpet behind the two heat vents that I found to be a right scensoredt to get out plus the tight space in the drivers footwell..had me banghead for a good while, but overall it was great fun!clap

Neil......when we meet up next I think I owe you beer Cheers mate!

My lovely new re leathered seats have worn through in 1 year .. sick of it . and the stiching is come undone ,there falling apart ..

Should the top layer be coming off so quickly ?

No they should be nearly new after a year.

When i get in and out the car i catch the edge of the seat ,probably only done 6k in it and there worn through...

Must be cheap hides Is that normal after one year ? there is some loose stitching and the same type of damage in the seat area.

That's rubbish. The leather on my Disco has survived 120,000 miles with no obvious wear.
