ive just sold my range rover supercharged....10mpg was getting to me after 1yr of everyday driving.

I'm looking for something that I can use everyday for a max £25k. the car must be 4 seater or at least a 2+2, a head turner would be an added bonus but and exciting drive would be a priority. Must be fast and modestly economical no AMG's or big v8's etc.

Ive been looking at the following (wide range) of cars

635d
911s
996 turbo
Jaguar XJ diesel (2008 facelift but maybe a bit too old man for me im 33?)
e350 sport (coupe & saloon)
s320 AMG spec (2007 plus)
cls320 (amg spec)

any one care to add any alternatives that i may have missed to look at? I know ive not listed the Audi 3.0tdi, im not too sure if i like them enough?

Im getting sick of trawling autotrader so hopefully someone can make my mind up for me based on their own experiences smile

E90 M3 is an obvious one, or the 335i

If a 996 turbo is econimical enough, then your list should have the B7 RS4 on it.

I dont think you really know how economical or sporty or fast you want this car to be, do you?

Why not 650i?

hehe put it this way im fairly open, I don't do too many miles to be worried too much about fuel but i still dont want to own a car that i spend more time in the petrol station than driving it (E60 M5 is out)that's all. The reason what I included the 635d was I previously owned a 335d and 535d and they were great, never had a 6 series so toyed with the idea of a 635d.

I think the 650 would be a bit like the range rover and i doubt id be able to sell it on in a years time I don't think

The 650 will be similar to the E60 in that you will be at the pumps alot due to it's smallish tank. I would look at the 996 Turbo on your list.

Whole new topic, look at the way they have tumbled in the past. Who knows with Porkers? Now is a good time to invest in a 993 or a 964 as they seem to be appreciating and people are putting their money into cars and wines rather than shares and banks etc...
