Help in choosing a car - 500bhp+

500bhp or more
Supercharged or turbo (not naturally aspirated)
4 door saloon (not coupe)
6 speed manual (not 5 speed, auto or tip)
A/C, cruise, leather
£8000-£14000

Supercharged VXR8 maybe?

There are a few Mercedes that have 500bhp for under 14k, but apart from that you're probably looking at a tuned (B5) RS4 or RS6.

I could check out some RS4/RS6, but I'm thinking most mercs are autos?

You could probably build a 500BHP LSx engined MX5 in budget so it's not as nutty as it sounds.

The E60 M5 is on SMG, it's normal aspirated and it'll be hard to get into budget.

Mercs are all autos, I don't think a 500BHP Merc has come without a slusher as yet?

Audi RS6 is an auto is it not?

The Holden is starting to make a case for itself

RS4 is manual, but less than 500bhp, and NA.

RS6 is auto.

That's why I love HSVs so much! - 500bhp and a manual box, I've not let go of that stick and rudder driving feel...

So all RS6 are autos?

No, the reason for the new classified was too distract me at work as much as possible and thus get me fired!

Cheapest way into 300BHP, as an aside, is a piffling £1250 for a Merc CL500. Should be able to source something under a grand easily enough by that rationale, a CL is usually pricier than the S Class.

Now that's a very good point ..but I just don't think I could bring myself to buy an auto.

Though there doesn't appear to be any for sale at the moment, so far looks to be between:

VXR8 supercharged
RS4 manual tuned 500bhp+
