They'll be dancing in the streets of Dublin tonight!

Any guess on the amount of Guiness that is to be consumed this evening!?!?!?

Matt.

Corking game (no pun intended!)

Thouroughly deserved the draw. I just hope that England play with the same skill, passion and committment on Friday.

Well done lads.

For those of you without access to any info – Thierry Henry just got a red card!

France down to 10 men and maybe going out – Vive le Uruguay!

Defending champions have not failed to qualify from group stages since Brazil failed to in 1966

If things work out like they might then England coming second in our group would mean we would not have to play France in the next stage. Assuming that is that both France and England finish second in their respected groups. That would leave Argentina to play France.

Only thing we have to do now is get some kind of result against Argentina and Nigeria......ohh !!!

Funnily enough, if France AND the Urugs win their final game, GroupA will be a 4-way tie on 4 points! Pretty much any of them could win on GD, including France.

This seems to be the most entertaining group stage in a long time, what with the results from France, Ireland, South Korea, Senegal...

Why does it make any difference? In the long run, to win, you (we/they/etc) have to out-play everyone.

And incidentally, just for the record, a recent survey showed that a large majority of Scots support England when Scotland aren't playing (like in this football world cup before anyone else points it out!).

Just in case anyone was wondering.

True but at that stage I was thinking England have a better chance of progressing through the tournament if we don't play France so early.

Anyway....it doesn't matter now. France have bottled it so we get to play Senegal or Denmark.

But until then we have Ireland to cheer on this lunch time with a pint of the black stuff in hand.

Gutted I am. But there is no excuse... les Bleus were unable to score a single feckin' goal in 3 games!!! All this with aledgedly the best scorers of the English and the Italian leagues... I'd like to think that if Petit, Henry and Pires could have played things would have been different... Now the number one priority is to get rid of this crap coach and get someone credible in the job - Arsene Wenger?
