Btcc Oulton park

Well after a months break from racing the uk premier touring car series returns for the 4th round of the champonship.

Not much news circulating about rd 4 yet was concerns over rob austin not returning and thorney having problems with the insgnia but RAR was out testing with the audi so it looks like they will continue but no news yet about thorney.
This was meant to be the rd when the 2nd insgnia would debut but can't see that happening.

On other news tony gilham has put is civic for sale and is looking likly that he will have a team mate in the 2nd half of the season and has said big plans for 2013, looking likly to be getting ngtc cars for next year.

For tv watchers the last couple of races will be cut of due to tennis and will be shown at a later time.

I will be making the trip up to watch this haven't been for a good 5 years and the weather forcast is looking good at the moment hoping it will stay dry after a soaking at thruxton.

So whos going and who will be watching on tv.

At just over 15 miles away, Oulton is my 'local' track. Still watching it on TV though, you see more of the action/punch-ups.

I'll be at Oulton again this year. Forecast looks a little iffy but a bit of rain tends to make the racing more interesting. Very much looking forward to it.

We are heading up from London on Friday! Group of 7 of us and my birthday on Saturday. If it's anything like Thruxton I will be severely pissed off!

Despite it being my 'local' track I shall be watching this at home nursing a hangover from a wedding on Saturday.

Been to all the BTCC races so far this year.Leave home at 9am with two of my boys to get to Oulton Park Saturday lunchtime to watch second practice and then qualifying.Staying in Hotel in Middlewich Sat night and back to Oulton Park all day Sunday.Home just in time to watch the Canadian GP on TV.

Its my wifes Birthday on the Saturday and she is quite happy to get rid of me for the weekend.

I hope so to but can't help think this was to big and to quick a job from thorney. Instead of running older cars then converting to ngtc to gain experience they have gone straight into the deep end and haven't really thought it out.
They need a test driver that can understand and develope the car turks, thompson even o'neil at the moment they got a dog of a car and no dispespect to john he's not exactly a top line driver.
I really hope they will be back but can't see them being back till next year.


On other news Will brat will drive the 2nd audi a4 for RAR but rob is sitting this one out due to damage to the car the team believe to have sorted the problems with the engine and hope to be right back on the pace.

Living in Birmingham these days, but Oulton was my local track when I was being brought up in Manchester. Would love to make it to the circuit for the BTCC.

Saw on Facebook a week or so ago they'd been out testing the car and had apparently made big setup improvements. Still going to take time but they're understanding the car more now.

They're not going to be there. Have split with Swindon engines and need time to remap it themselves. So won't be back until Snett.

Shame Rob Austin wont be racing, hopefully the team will have better reliability and speed from now on. Any news on Welch motorsport and if they've got any updates?

News from motorsport news has stated that techspeed are close to getting atleast 1 of the cruzes back on the grid in the 2nd half of the season.
