A MANNING - BREAKDOWN COVER?

Anyone here gone with it? They have sent me a proposal form with my renewal documents. I still have a few months AA cover left - that cost me around £130 last year IIRC, along with £60 for the 2 week trip to europe that wasnt covered.
This policy states (ok, not in the small print) that its £49 a year, including europe and "recovery to an approved repairer" and "transport for you and your vehicle to a destination if your car cannot be repaired at the roadside"
Breakdown cover to me is a mystery since the times i have used it they repaired the car and I went on my merry way. hence I dont know whats a good policy and whats bad. All I know is this seems considerably cheaper. Any advice? Anyone gone with this cover?

I went with it Phil, there are limitation to it, like you can only use it 6 times a year, and I did read the bit about to an approved repairer.
My take it that if Mannings have set this up with TVR drivers in mind, it's a fair bet they will be TVR savvy.
Suppose you could ask them.

well i think the AA limit is 3 so thats a good shout. The worry is what is "an approved repairer" - does that mean a Nelson (maindealer)?

My renewal is up on Monday and even though I'm covered by the RAC for another 4 months this is cheaper than adding a Euro cover extension to my existing policy and I've got 2 trips planned for the next 12 months
yep, virtually identical situation to the one I am in. Will find out if you can "join up" halfway through your insurance policy so I dont pay for 2 lots of breakdown cover over the next 4 months - thats a bit of overkill, even with a TVR!

But I've got an Italian motorbike and a French hatchback on the fleet, when I phone up for breakdown cover a big red light flashers on the telesales bods PC
if I can spread the calls out over 2 firms I should be alright, you could even race them against each other

yeah right you mean the Rover thats on the drive at the moment not moving
The fact is I use the rover for my longer work related journies so if I get stuck miles away from home, chances are it will be in the walnut warrior rather than the flying bogey.

), and they coped fine the 3 occasions we called them (immobiliser and accident for mine, and coil for the Rover). They're also considerably cheaper than the AA (£57 inc. no claims discount for the top service), and are offering 15 months for the price of 12.
They also recovered the Rover home when the coil went and then sent out another low-loader the following morning to take it to the garage. The AA won't do that!
